Since its beginning in 2004, the Master's in International Relations, has consolidated itself, both in Spain and abroad, as a leading programme in the field of international affairs. It offers a solid academic preparation for students intending to pursue a professional career in any of the social, political and economic domains of international relations.

With the vital support of public institutions and the active involvement of a large group of academic staff from various universities in Barcelona, we have built an attractive master’s programme, which combines academic rigour with a practical approach to the most important problems in the international sphere. The programme also strives to maintain a personalized approach to ensure close contact among all members of the IBEI community.

Our students remember their year at IBEI, one of intense dedication to the study of international relations, as a period in their lives during which they learn to reflect on the problems of today's world in a more profound, complex and informed manner. In short, to learn “to see the world in a different way”. What they learned at IBEI will remain with them for the rest of their lives, and we hope that it will enrich them both professionally and personally. Regardless of the IBEI teachers' contribution to their learning process, the experience at IBEI is also to a large extent the students' own achievement. The range of academic and geographical backgrounds, together with the optional bilingual character of the programme, has contributed to discovering diversity and stimulating understanding among all of the Master's students.

Our syllabus is designed to offer the capacities and skills you will need to carry out a career in the international sphere. It is an interdisciplinary programme where you will come into contact with disciplines such as politics, law and economics, but where you will are also be offered the opportunity to specialize in particular sub-fields that interest you. This knowledge will be very useful in your future career, whether that be in the field of public diplomacy, international organizations or the private sector, to mention only a few of the areas in which IBEI graduates are currently working.
