The Associació d’Amics de l’IBEI, established in 2014, has the following goals:

a) To contribute to the academic and scientific purposes of IBEI, organizing or promoting activities that help IBEI position itself as a recognized teaching and research institution in Catalonia and in the international academic world.

b) To facilitate IBEI's relationships with other organizations and initiatives that work to consolidate Barcelona as an open and innovative city.

In 2019, with the arrival of Lluís Riera to the presidency of the association and the renewal of the board, the Amics de l’IBEI becomes a much more dynamic association.

It is currently made up of about thirty members, all linked in some way with IBEI.
