IBEI celebrates the Graduation Ceremony of its Masters
The past 29th of June, IBEI celebrated the graduation ceremony of it's Master's in International Relations, International Security, Public Policy (Mundus MAPP), and International Development at the Paranimf of the Universitat de Barcelona.
The welcome speech was in charge of Dr. Francisco Esteban Bara, Delegate of the Rector for the Student Observatory of the Universitat de Barcelona. His discourse was followed by some warm words of IBEI's director Jacint Jordana.
Mr. Mark Freeman, Executive Director of the Institute for Integrated Transitions (IFIT), attended the Graduation Ceremony 2018 as a keynote speaker with the lecture “Theory and Practice: Why both matter”, available in video here.
After this lecture, Aina Gallego, Research Fellow Ramon y Cajal at IBEI (Associate Professor), took part as a speaker to address the students, congratulating and encouraging them in their promising future after their studies at the IBEI. You can read her speech here, and also watch it in video.
Finally, the vice-rectors of the universities that issue the masters' certificates (UPF, UAB, and UB) awarded the certificates to all IBEI graduates. The event was attended by Dra. Laura Feliu, Dean of the Faculty of Political Science and Sociology of UAB; Dr. Francisco Esteban Bara, Delegate of the Rector for the Student Observatory of UB; and Dr. David Sancho, Director of the Department of Political and Social Sciences of UPF.
The President of IBEI Narcís Serra also made a final speech as a way of closure.
At the very end, there was a reception at the garden, accompanied with some beverages and appetizers, with some professors, family, and friends, who did not want to miss the special occasion.
