IBEI graduate Marta Anglès obtains the REEDES Award to the Best Master's Final Dissertation on Development Studies 2018
The 1st REEDES (Spanish Network of Development Studies) Award to the Best Master's Final Dissertation in Development Studies has been awarded to the IBEI graduate Marta Anglès for her project 'Exploring the spread of obesity in developing countries through the lenses of trade liberalization and urbanization' in the framework of the IBEI Master's in International Development during the course 2017-18.
The REEDES jury, in addition to highlighting the quality of the paper presented, indicated that this is a comparative work, with a qualitative approach on the relationship between liberalization, urbanization, and obesity in 3 developing countries of different income levels, which includes also interesting implications in terms of development.
The Award to the Best Master's Final Dissertation in Development Studies aims to promote research in this field within the framework of the master's programs of the REEDES partner institutions, as well as to promote works that may help to create new research lines.
