IBEI student Minerva Estruch-Rectoret wins the "XII EU Articles Contest"
Minerva Estruch-Rectoret, student of the Master's in International Relations (academic year 2018-19), and graduated in International Business from the Universitat de Barcelona, is the author of the article "The tyranny of small decisions", winner of the XII EU Articles Contest organized by the European Commission representation in Barcelona.
The contest is aimed at university students or recent graduates with the intention of promoting debate around the EU among young people. Taking into account that this year the European elections are held, in this edition the university students have been asked to write about the electoral appointment.
Minerva Estruch's work addresses the importance of making decisions at a European level on key issues such as environmental protection and mitigation of climate change, and falls within the category of opinion. This article, together with the other winner, has been published in diari Ara and can be read here (in catalan). The authors of the winning articles will also participate in a journalists trip to Brussels organized by the European institutions in Barcelona.
This Contest on the European Union was organized for the first time in 2007 and since then offers students the opportunity to get to know the EU institutions in depth and to become, for a few days, correspondents in Brussels. Since its first edition, almost thirty young people have already lived this experience. These visits provide a first-hand knowledge of the day-by-day of the institutions and access meetings with the European Commission's members, MEPs and other representatives of the EU.
Congratulations to Minerva Estruch-Rectoret for this award!
