Biography
Natalia Escoffier is a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellow under the LAC-EU Doctoral Network at IBEI - UPF. She is a PhD candidate in the Political and Social Sciences program at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) under the supervision of Dr. Andrea C. Bianculli as part of the MSCA-Doctoral Network “Understanding Latin American Challenges in the 21st Century" (LAC-EU), where her research will focus on gender, social policy, and trade in Latin American regional governance.
Between January 2021 and August 2024, Natalia worked at Argentina's country office of the International Organization for Migration–UN Migration. In this role, she managed relations with both governmental and non-governmental stakeholders, focusing on gender mainstreaming and social policy development within migration frameworks, and she also oversaw the research area of the office. With a decade of experience in gender and public policy design, Natalia has previously held different management roles in Argentina's national public administration. Her expertise spans designing programs and policies on gender-based violence and human rights.
Natalia holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina, graduating with honors. She also has a Master's degree in Social Policy Design and Management from FLACSO Argentina, a specialization diploma in Politics, Evaluation, and Social Management from the same institution, and a Master's degree in Gender Studies, Identities, and Citizenship from the University of Cádiz, Spain, completed with the support of a Fundación Carolina fellowship.
In addition to her professional work, Natalia has contributed to academia as a research assistant at the Gino Germani Institute of the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Buenos Aires. In 2020, she was selected for the “Voluntary Visitor Program” of the Public Policy Institute on Human Rights of MERCOSUR (IPPDH, for its Spanish acronym).
