Professional Internship Programme

Unlock Your Future with Hands-On Experience
Welcome to IBEI’s Professional Internship Programme!

The IBEI internship programme is voluntary, curricular or extracurricular and it is designed to provide students real-world experience in international relations, security, development and public policy. It offers an opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals on meaningful projects. Interns will:

  • Gain Practical Experience: Work on real-world projects and contribute to important company initiatives.

  • Develop Professional Skills: Receive training and mentorship to enhance both technical and soft skills.

  • Network with Industry Experts: Build connections with professionals and fellow interns in your field.

  • Explore Career Opportunities: Discover potential career paths and opportunities

Every year the career services office organizes an informative session early in the academic year to explain in-depth how this programme works. In addition to this, the guide on the IBEI internship programme is of great help if you are interested in becoming an intern. The Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) about IBEI Internships will help you clarify any question related to the guide or programme.

How does the programme work?

IBEI supports three Internship Paths:

  • Path 1: IBEI-arranged Internships
    • Internships organized through signed agreements between IBEI and external organizations. The IBEI Career Center is the platform to manage IBEI-arranged internships.

  • Path 2: IBEI-found independently Internships with IBEI Assistance
    • Internships found independently by students.

    • Require IBEI's help with paperwork and an educational collaboration agreement with the host organization.

  • Path 3: Fully Independent Internships
    • Internships found and arranged entirely by students without direct involvement from IBEI.

    • IBEI will regularly provide information on these fully independent internships

Erasmus+ Internships:

The IBEI holds the Erasmus+ Higher Education Charter and, as a higher education institution, offers grants for students to pursue internships abroad, lasting between two and twelve months. More information
