The International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) has officially declared that it will end its mission in Afghanistan by 31 December 2014, and the Afghan National Security Forces is expected to be fully responsible for national security by mid-2013. What are the prospects for a sustainable peace during and after this transition, and how will a stable political order be consolidated in the country? Dr Wilder, who advises NATO on transition strategies, will talk about the current situation and future challenges.
