An official master’s degree offered jointly by the Central European University, the International Institute of Social Studies of Erasmus University Rotterdam, the University of York, the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, the Universitat de Barcelona and the Universitat Pompeu Fabra. It is operated as an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree Program funded by the European Commission.

Two-year ​international programme intended to equip graduates with the conceptual knowledge and hard skills that are necessary for understanding and decisively intervening in contemporary transnational policy problems, from climate change to international terrorism or financial regulatory failure.

Classes are taught in English​. At IBEI, students may take some electives​ in​ Spanish​​.

The four mobility tracks allow students to specialize in Political Economy and Development, Governance and Development, European Public Policy and Global Public Policy, respectively. The CEU-IBEI track specializes in Global Public Policy while the ISS-IBEI track revolves around the topic of Political Economy and Development.
