FROM COMPETITION FOR OIL TO COMPETITION FOR CRITICAL MATERIALS?

The already visible effects of climate change have created a global urgency to leave fossil energy behind and move towards a more sustainable energy model. A consequence of this change is the global competition for the natural resources needed to generate renewable energy such as the manufacturing of solar panels, wind turbines or electric car batteries.

The speakers will analyse how geopolitics defines the ecological and energy transition, as well as explains the effects of this transition both internationally and in the countries of the Global North and South.
