The Spanish Minister of Universities, Joan Subirats,  has learned first-hand about the activities and projects of the Institut Barcelona d'Estudis Internacionals (IBEI), its lines of research and training, and its inter-university nature.

Subirats met with the president and director of IBEI, as well as with members of the scientific committee and Pablo Pareja, vice-rector for faculty and community relations at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra and co-coordinator of the Erasmus Mundus Masters Program in Public Policy (Mundus MAPP).

Joan Subirats is Emeritus Professor of Political Science at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) and has been the promoter and director of the Institute of Government and Public Policy (IGOP) at the UAB.
