Doctoral Training Academy
The Doctoral Training Academy (DTA) is an annual 1-day event for PhD students and Early Career Researchers (ECRs) in European Studies and related disciplines, providing practical advice for researchers at all stages of their PhD, including the immediate years post-submission.
Publishing is this year's theme of the Doctoral Training Academy (DTA). The training will comprise a mix of roundtable discussions, talks and workshops focusing on best practices in publishing and higher education, to help you improve your skills and knowledge and boost your career development (in and outside academia). The DTA is an excellent opportunity to meet people who are engaged in related areas of research. Registration is free and open to PhD students and ECRs worldwide whose research is on contemporary Europe or the European Union. Find more information here
Experts will lead sessions on:
- Preparing your article: how to choose a journal, becoming involved in an edited volume project, how to turn your manuscript into a book
- Article review and the production process: how to do a high-quality peer review, how to navigate the co-authorship process, how to respond to reviewer comments, what to expect from the publishing process.
- Publicising your research: how to promote your journal article after publication, how to decide between traditional journals and more impact-based methods.
The event is organised by the UACES Graduate Forum Committee, who will also be having elections during the conference. Find out more about the UACES Graduate Forum Committee.
