'Exhibition on Bombs, Bikinis, & Borders' organised by student representatives and Sahar Talebi
Pop-Art Exhibit “Bombs, Bikinis & Borders” in Barcelona Sparks Reflection and Social Change.
Barcelona, October 27, 2024 – The C6 Gallery in Barcelona became a vibrant hub for the “Bombs, Bikinis & Borders” exhibition, a powerful event organized entirely by students from the Barcelona Institute of International Studies (IBEI). These students spearheaded the creation of a unique experience that blended art, music, and social reflection, exploring essential themes like intersectionality, militarization, and environmental impact, and highlighting their commitment to sparking meaningful conversations around global issues.
Starting at 6:00 PM, the gallery was alive with live performances and a visual art show that addressed the often-overlooked voices and struggles of marginalized communities. Using pop-art and other mediums, the artists conveyed powerful messages about global issues, creating a space for awareness and dialogue.
At 8:00 PM, the event continued with a special dinner, complemented by an exclusive performance that guided attendees on a sensory journey. The evening concluded with a thought-provoking discussion panel, encouraging participants to reflect on how they can become active agents of change in response to contemporary challenges.
“Bombs, Bikinis & Borders” was more than an art exhibition; it was a call to action and a moment to engage with the critical issues of our time. Thanks to the hard work and vision of IBEI students and artist Sahar Talebi, the event left a lasting impact, demonstrating the power of collaboration and art to inspire meaningful change.
Congratulations to the student representatives and Sahar Talebi for this event!
