Biografía
Ilana Schröder is a public policy PhD researcher and lecturer focusing on citizen participation, policy conflicts, and expertise in (sustainable) infrastructure policy. She is a research associate at the Institute of Comparative Politics and Public Policy (CoPPP) at the TU Braunschweig and currently part of a project team at the University of Speyer in which she is working on the determinants of animal welfare policy in Spain. During her stay at the IBEI as a visiting researcher, she will conduct interviews with experts to study the actors, policy instruments, drivers, and barriers of Spanish animal welfare policymaking.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences from TU Braunschweig (DE) and a Master’s degree in Research in Public Administration and Organizational Science from Utrecht University (NL). She is currently doing her PhD at the KPM Center for Public Management at the University of Bern (CH) with a focus on participatory processes and policy conflict dynamics in the siting of infrastructure. Since 2021, she is the editorial director of the international public policy journals “European Policy Analysis” and “Review of Policy Research”.
