Biografia

Boris Kashnikov is a professor of moral and political philosophy at National Research University “Higher School of Economics'' (Moscow), a visiting lecturer at Rennes School of Business (France), and a research associate at the Department of Politics and International Studies of the University of Cambridge (UK). His research interests lie in the fields of moral and political philosophy, ethics of war and peace, war and justice, and terrorism. He served for the USSR peacemaking forces in Nagorny Karabakh (1989) and worked with UNPROFOR in the Former Yugoslavia as a civilian police station commander (1993-94). He was visiting professor in several universities such as George Mason University, Emory University, Ohio State University, University of Oxford, Ruhr University Bochum, University of Bayreuth, and University of Urgench (Uzbekistan). His publications in English include countless articles and a monograph: “Terrorism. The New World Disorder”, London: Continuum, 2007 (in co-authorship). He contributed several chapters to the monograph: “Moral Constraints on War. Principles and Cases” (edited by  Bruno Coppieters and Nick Fotion), Lexington Books, 2002. Third edition in 2021. Currently he is working on a monograph “The Rise of Humanitarian Terrorism”.
