European Politics and International Security

The European Research Summer Course encompasses a comprehensive exploration of critical aspects of European politics, security, and integration against the backdrop of recent geopolitical events like Russia's incursion into Ukraine and the conflict in Gaza following Hamas attacks on Israel. This course offers a broad spectrum of topics, including the politics, theory, and history of European integration, EU politics, international relations of Europe, EU foreign and security policy, foreign policy analysis, human rights in foreign policy, regional and global security issues, and related areas in European and international affairs. Participants are encouraged to present and discuss their research work, whether predoctoral, postdoctoral, or ongoing projects such as master theses, doctoral theses, research papers, or new exploratory work. Additionally, the course provider offers presentations on framing research topics and subject matters relevant to the seminar, providing a comprehensive learning experience for all attendees.
Ulrich Krotz is Research Professor at the Institut Barcelona d’Estudis Internacionals (IBEI), and Faculty Associate at the Centre de Recherches Internationales (CERI) at Sciences Po Paris, where he also teaches European and international affairs. He currently serves as Pierre Keller Visiting Professor at the Harvard Kennedy School at Harvard University.
