Descripció
This course examines major contemporary issues in conflict and security studies with a particular focus on critical perspectives and critical examination of contemporary security issues and actors. The course seeks a balance between conceptual grounding and practical knowledge of policy issues. That is, it engages with securitization theory, human security, feminist security, as much as in the transformation of war, the possibilities for peace, the clash between US and China, the European foreign action and Indigenous perspectives on security. The goal of the course is to provide students with a background on contemporary security debates and develop their capabilities as policy analysts on issues related to global conflict and security challenges.
