Biografia

Manuel Alvariño is transitioning from a PhD at the EUI, in Florence, and a Post-doc position at the CBS, in Copenhagen. He studies the comparative politics of the welfare state, with a focus on the politics of work-life balance reform in Europe, He studies how the activity of parties and interest groups explaining why countries vary in the way they shape the social and gender division of labour by introducing policies that enable mothers’ to work in the labour market, men to take care responsibilities, or rather incentivizing women to perform domestic work. He has previously been a visiting researcher at IGOP (Universitat Autónoma de Barcelona) and the University of Zürich.
