Visiting Scholars Programme

The Institut Barcelona d’Estudis Internacionals (IBEI) welcomes faculty from institutions worldwide to participate in its Visiting Scholars Programme, offering a unique opportunity for international research collaboration and academic exchange.

Programme Overview

The Visiting Scholars Programme is designed for faculty members seeking to engage in research at IBEI while contributing to its vibrant intellectual community. Visiting Scholars are appointed by IBEI’s Scientific Council and may be hosted for periods ranging from one to nine months. Appointments are granted based on the candidate’s academic background and the potential for research collaboration with IBEI faculty.

Funding and Support

Visiting Scholars are generally responsible for their own expenses, including travel, accommodation, visa fees, and health insurance. In most cases, scholars secure funding through their home institutions or external grants. 

Application Process

Prospective applicants must submit the following:

  • A detailed CV

  • A cover letter outlining research interests and proposed collaboration
