Biography

Gustavo Santana is a Ph.D. candidate and holds a Master's degree in International Relations from the Graduate Program in International Relations at the State University of Rio de Janeiro (PPGRI/UERJ). He completed his undergraduate studies in International Relations at the Catholic University of Petropolis (UCP). Gustavo is an Associate Researcher at the Brazil-Argentina International Studies Center (NEIBA/UERJ). He is a scholarship recipient from the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES) and was also a recipient of a grant from the Foundation for Research Support of the State of Rio de Janeiro (FAPERJ).Additionally, Gustavo is a member of the Brazilian Association of International Relations (ABRI), the Association for the Study of Ethnicity and Nationalism (ASEN), and the International Political Science Association (IPSA). His research interests encompass various aspects of International Relations, with a particular focus on topics such as nationalism, genocide, culture, human rights, and international relations in the Middle East, with a specific emphasis on the Kurds in Iraq.
