Descripción

This course examines the intersections of gender, development, and globalization, in theory and in practice. We will focus on defining and theorizing these intersections and how intersections materialize in research, policies, and practice. The course is divided into three parts. The first part explores theories of gender and development with a focus on feminist perspectives on questions of inclusion, equity, and representation. The second part explores on theories of gender and globalization with a focus on feminist critique of inequalities. The third part is designed as a “visioning exercise” aimed at proposing pathways for globalization and development to accelerate gender equality, not as an afterthought but as a deliberate and achievable goal that can mobilize diverse stakeholders and resources.
